Title: Virus definition update fails
Post by: Andrew85 on December 04, 2022, 04:33:14 PM
Hi.

I get a message saying I am unprotected. I check status and it says virus definitions are not u to date.  I click the button to install latest definitions but the updates fails with an error message.

See attachment for error message

Any suggestions how to fix this?

Are you using a VPN and or Firewall other than Avast ?

Have you tried an Avast Repair ?
AvastUI > Menu > Settings > General > Troubleshooting > APP Repair - Restart after completion.

I have MS firewall running in Win 10.

I tried a "repair" and then re-booted the PC and it is now working. (I did a repair previously but did not reboot and the issue persisted).

Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

You're welcome.

You should be good with the MS Firewall, it is what I use with the Avast Antivirus (free version).  I always do a custom install and don't sect the avast firewall.
