Title: Boot-time scan not working

When I perform a Boot-Time Scan on my laptop (Windows 10), I only see a 'Loading Avast definitions' on a blank screen after it has been rebooted.  It used to work a couple of months ago. 

Are there any suggestions on how to fix this?
