This a false positive?
First time I'm seeing something like this and no downloads outside of routine system updates.

Best to attach your screenshot here many won't visit unknown third party links.
See attached screenshot on how (click to expand).
Also see this topic - https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=322271.0 - is this the same ?
-
Thank you! Couldn't figure out how to attach!

And there's no ability to disable btw

Same here. I did a full scan and got this message too. The sha in VirusTotal is: 5578c549fcb8a20170f3bd14f9db0267e5e86fec0c42d321a52d5052f18bc868

OK, Having read the wording in the attachment.
"You must deactivate the APP from System Settings"
This would lead me to believe that this is an app rather than the Android version. Have any of you recently added a new APP or very recently updated an APP ?
Whilst Ignore I would say isn't a great option (if it truly is a malicious app) and Resolve isn't great either as you have no idea what it is you/Avast are going to resolve.
So first I would suggest disabling any new APP (only one at a time) that you have installed and see if resolves the issue. Then check the recent updates in the same way.
-
I had no recent updates or new Apps installed
-
I assume this is not a false positive.
I ended up doing a factory reset and finally the malware alert does not appear aymore. I didn't find another solution and I needed to be fast becaue someone managed to order some stuff from my amazon account to an adress 400km far away from me.
-
I have this same problem. It says there is an app call "Android System" embedded in the partition and it can't be removed by Avast. When you go to the "app" it can't be disabled. I installed Malwarebytes and it did not find it.
Odd.
-
Which is why I'm wondering if it's a false positive. There was a recent avast update for me.

There has been an influx of texts and calls from "amazon" claiming you've had a charge for a large amount of money. They are phishing attempts.
If you clicked any of the text links or pressed1 to speak with an Amazon rep, file a security report with Amazon and file a police report, change your passwords (email, amazon, bank), enable 2 step verification on Amazon and bank apps, and call your bank.
For the record I got these but never clicked links or pressed 1 on phone call.

False positive
Here's what I've heard back from Avast:
"The fix was released this morning. There are still some delayed reports coming through,
but no new alerts should be triggered."

I take it that this release was in the virus definitions update ?
-
Sadly their patch/update didn't fix it for me.
Warning still there despite updating and rebooting.

Here's the last message I received form Avast:
"Hi Norbert. This was indeed a false positive that happened on Android 13 devices
that have our anti-virus. The issue is fixed now and rescan will remove it from the detections."
