There are many hits related to this (if you don't specify Avast), so it could be common to a windows version.
However you don't say what version of Microsoft Windows you are using, not the version of Avast, so it really is hard to say why this has occurred.
Did you have another antivirus installed and did you remove it before installing avast ?
