Post by: stereo on December 30, 2007, 12:40:50 AM
well i've been using avast for 3-4 years now and never ever had this problem before
the scanner which is always online (the 'circle' with an 'a'), after switching on the pc for like 10 mins, it becomes off and theres no way of getting it on again than rebooting the pc

any idea?
i've tried with avast main menu but it didnt change... also with uninstalling avast and installing again... no way

thanks in advance

You probably still have an infection, probably a rootkit on your system that is killing avast.

After running the above rootkit tools if nothing is found try these.
If you haven't already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode.
AVG anti-spyware or SUPERantispyware or Spyware Terminator.
