Title: Firefox link in Bank Mode
Post by: svnupa on March 26, 2023, 04:20:02 PM
Hello,

i am using the actual version of Avast Secure Browser (Version 111.0.20600.111 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit)).

In the taskbar of bank mode i can find a link to Firefox. Is this intended by the software engineer ?
I haven't used this link. I can delete it, but at next start of bank mode it is back.

Want to be sure, that no malware has infected my system.

About answers i would be glad.

Bank mode is available for other browsers other than ASB or Chrome.

However to use bank mode in Firefox I believe you have to use the Taskbar icon to launch it with Firefox.

I can't speak from personal experience as I don't have the Avast Secure Browser installed.  There are however other topics relating to this.

My Bank Mode has a link to Notepad because that's what I pinned (added) to the Bank Mode taskbar.
I don't have a link or shortcut to Firefox but, I can add that if I choose to do so.

Thanks for answers.  :D
I know that i can add links into bank mode for use within the box.
But i see this as a risk, because you open your bank mode for malware.
Few months ago i attempted this with metasploit.
It was possible to load payloads into the bank mode to log all written informations (e.g. enclosed on calc.exe or notepad.exe).
It's not so easy to append payloads on signed files like the referred, but possible.
