Title: "dinoraptzor.org" adware
Post by: Aesuuki on March 31, 2023, 09:15:48 PM
This thread https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=230675.0 (https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=230675.0) included information about removing the virus, so I did the following:

Installed and ran:
Malwarebytes AdwCleaner https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/ (https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/)
Malwarebytes Antimalware https://www.malwarebytes.com/ (https://www.malwarebytes.com/)

I restarted the computer, chrome opened, and then I got a notification that Malwarebytes blocked the website.
Restarted again, chrome still opened, but just with the "This site can’t provide a secure connection" page.

So From there I followed step #2 at https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=194892.0 (https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=194892.0) and got these files:

These are very old topics that you refer to and since then there has been little need for qualified virus removal specialists (who need to maintain currency), in the Avast Forums.  Most of those qualified virus removal specialists have moved to active malware removal sites.

The malwarebytes forum does have malware removal sub-forum with qualified and current specialists - https://forums.malwarebytes.com/forum/7-windows-malware-removal-help-support/ and https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/9573-im-infected-what-do-i-do-now/

That said, I have no idea what antivirus program you are using  ?
If avast having installed MBAM there appears to be a conflict as I would have expected the Avast Web Shield to have alerted rather than the MBAM web protection.  Typically it isn't advisable to run two anti-malware/antivirus programs at the same time as they can conflict.

I've never used the avast antimalware, I'm just here because this is the only place that mentioned dinoraptzor; I would've thought 2019 was relatively recent but I guess not. I'll ask around in the forums you mentioned then.

You don't have to ask around in that forum, the first link I gave sets you off on your journey.

The second the "I'm infected - What do I do now? " is the topic that gives instructions on what to do, run the tools save the files, create a topic and attach the logs.
This is s little like "Logs to assist in cleaning malware" topic that got you started on your journey here. So pretty much the same as you have done here, so you could simply attach the logs you have collected assuming they are the same ones.

Do not click on the ad, let Malwarebytes cleanse it off for you.
