The preferred method of posting an image is to attach it in the forums.  Most people won't visit an unknown 3rd party link with unknown content.

- Attaching Images to your post - When you Click the Reply button it opens a text window for you to post your comment (reply or post).
Click the Preview button, that shows what you have input and expands it to include 'Attachments and other options'. Click that it further expands, here you can attach images, etc. at the bottom of your post.

That said I did check it out and I'm not entirely sure that is legal or not, or if Apple would consider circumventing protection as legal.  I don't use and Apple products, so I can't speak from personal experience.

However many such tools also come with unwelcome additions, often known as Pups, Potentially Unwanted Programs.  And this is what Avast is reporting given the FileRepPup [PUP] malware name.

I did a google search on the application name and came up with this.
