Title: Cannot update virus definitions

I have just installed avast! 4 Home Edition in a pc. In fact I have tried installing it in many pc but some of the pc cannot perform the updating function. And I realised that most of these pc are using dialup connection to internet. Those with broadband have no problems updating the virus definitions. Y is this so? Anyone please help.

There is a special page in the program settings where you can specify the internet connection (for updating purposes). Did you check it?

No. I did not see it. Can you guide my to that screen? Or maybe capture the screen for me? Thank you.

otacon...

1. Right click the 'a' blue icon at system tray.
2. Choose start avast! antivirus
3. Wait until the skin loads... and right click it
4. Choose Settings
5. Choose Update (Advanced)
6. Configure dial-up or DSL connection  ;)

Also a side note, had a friend call me up and tell me he couldnt hook up either for updates. So i went over there, he had the connection set up right, but his firewall was denying the connection. Just had to tell it to trust the app..... then all was fine...
