I feel more confident with Avast than AVG any day.. Go to G2G forum and see how many infections there are from people running AVG, Norton, McAfee etc..  I have done ONE Avast in the last 2 weeks but umpteen of the others

Hmm, somewhat strange data. Last position goes to NOD32 right after Kaspersky?

I think while tests like the one that was mentioned here, and this one aren't as reliable as AV Comparatives, they can still cause some concern. Hopefully someone from Alwil will explain why there shouldn't be any concerns over them. http://virusinfo.info/index.php?page=testseng

For a detailed discussion of the test, please see the other thread over at Wilders'.
The strangest result of the test is the discrepancy between Kaspersky and F-Secure. F-Secure uses the Kaspersky engine (plus their own one, but this has never really done anything worth mentioning)....

Seems to be able to catch some new malware that Kaspersky misses:

In my opinion, Avast can protect a system from viruses much quicker better than Avg.
