Title: Avast Home working overtime when XAMPP Control Panel is started
Post by: NeoPrince on January 16, 2008, 05:54:53 AM
Hello,

The moment I start XAMPP Control Panel (xampp-control.exe) Avast scans the file relentlessly. The file/folder exclusions don't work either. The machine gets slowed down because of this.

I understand that it is pv.exe which causes this as many AVs report it as a false positive. Avast does not report anything as such but just keeps working till the control panel is shutdown.

The scan count goes to thousands within few minutes with the number increasing by 4 every second.  :(

Can the gurus help??

Attached the snaps. Please note the scanned count in Snap 1.

Which is your operational system?
Is the folder \xampp\apache\bin\ in a Linux partition?
