Title: Scan is stuck on a file I can't find/delete...
Post by: ccrerar on February 13, 2008, 04:02:20 PM
I'm running the trial mac version of Avast, which I downloaded 3 days ago.  I've run it 4 times, each time for several hours and it gets stuck on the same file each time.  The file name is very long and does not display fully.  I've tried searching for the actual file and cannot find it on my machine anywhere.  Also tried searching for partial pathname, can't find it.

I let Avast run about 14 hours last night and it just stayed stuck on that same file - ad5.tiff.  Since it seems to find the file early in the scan, it has never been able to scan even 40% of the drive.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how this could be fixed?  I'm running OSX (ver10.4.11), have no other programs running.  Specified 'mail support' in the scan, also it's instructed to 'scan all files' and 'ignore virus targeting', but that's all.

Many thanks in advance for any help.
