Is the avast! 4 Professional license per user, as this page says:
http://www.avast.com/eng/pricelists.html
or is it per PC, as this page says:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_professional2.html
In other words, if I purchase a single license for my desktop PC, will it cover my notebook as well, if I am the only user of both?

No, as far as I know, it's per PC. So if you got a notebook and a desktop, you need 2 licenses

This could be put more clearly on the pages quoted but my understanding is that Avasts's "per user" is equivalent to "per workstation".
It could be confusing as MS user CALs can be either per user(person) or per workstation (client PC).

OK, no big deal. I now have the pro version, but only really need it for my desktop. I do think they could re-word their description to be more clear however.

If they're reading this thread... maybe...

This is interesting. Any chance we could hear from the avast! team on this?
It would be great to be able to use it on the desktop and the laptop. :)

Sorry, as some of the posters above already said, it is indeed licensed per machine.
If you're running more machines, you may also consider the Professional Family Pack (the pricing is very competitive):

Thanks
