Title: Symantec Security Check
Post by: danny38_61 on March 19, 2004, 06:05:45 AM
I ran the Symantec Security check and everthing is fine, except it says I have no running antivirus program. Why?
I have my Avast 7.23 running!!
It actually says:
Checks for a current version of a commonly-used virus protection product.
Analysis:
WARNING! No known virus protection software found. This means your computer and data are vulnerable to virus attacks. Virus attacks can have serious consequences, including system damage and data loss.

Recommendation:
Install the latest version of a commonly-used virus protection product.

My Avast settings under STMP are:
Server Address: blank
Port: 25
From Address: blank
Should these be filled in ? What do I put there?
I did the Mail protection wizard. It has two different
addresses there, a STMP  server address and a
Default POP3 server.

Anything I should do?

Do you forgive me? They are trying to say to us that avast! is not an antivirus. They think we are stupid. Their security check is not so good to detect other antivirus application... Uff! They are just trying to sell their product.

That blank information is just to send files for Alwil to analysis... You could let them blank... They are not related with email protection.  ;)
