my avast 4 pro doesn't update automatically. i uninstalled it, i made anew instalation, it doesn't work

is the auto-update activated in the settings?
which version of the program and the VPS do you have - is it probably already the actual one?
how much time do you give the program to update itself?

yes it's auto update activated in the settings
I bought the pro version th 6th of march 2008
I give 60 minutes at the program to update itself
and today i get a message from my security center I was always with 08321 version out of order

Try shutting up your firewall and running only on Windows Xp Firewall. If it works it means that your firewall blocks Avast setup.

Do you connect to the Internet via a telephone (dial up) modem?
If you have that setting and you really use a broadband connection (DSL or Cable) then avast will not update automatically.

yes I use a telephone modem. I bought internet and I get Avast 4 free since 2007 june until january 2008 without any problem.

is it already working?
if not, i only see the problem, that there is one "big" update which needs much time to update (also more than 60 minutes) - espacialy if you surf the net at the same time.
i would recomend to do a manual update at first and i think that the automatic update from then on will work for itself again... (just a guess)
or is the manual update also not working?

There are some issues on automatic updates that will be corrected in the 4.8 version.
It's now on beta phase during more a couple of days. If you can wait and manually update until 4.8 gets gold...
