Title: Opswat & 4.8 Home Edition
Post by: elliottbutler on April 08, 2008, 11:44:35 AM
Hi

We are using a firepass application to provide External Access to Webmail for members of staff from there home PC's.  When the staff try to access the page, an opswat program checks to ensure that anti virus software is installed on the remote PC before access is granted.  One of our users is using Avast Home Edition 4.8 on their PC, which is supported by Opswat, however the anti virus check fails.  I have installed Avast on my own home PC and not had any problems.  I have pasted the Opswat client info file below and as you can see it is showing that the anti virus monitor is disabled.

Can you advise where I would to enable this within in Avast?

Hi, and welcome to the avast forums.
I'm sorry but Opswat has not been developed by us, and neither is supported by us.

You'll have to contact their support.

Thanks
Vlk

F5 licenses the OESIS Framework to create the supported applications in Firepass. In order for support for this kind of thing Avast would have to be a member of the OESIS OK certification program (http://www.oesisok.com/ (http://www.oesisok.com/)). We have invited them to join (it's free) but as of yet have not received a response.
