Title: Web Shield Question.
Post by: nightshade on April 14, 2008, 07:36:21 PM
When I check my on access protection control, and click on the web shield on the drop down I see nothing in the LAST SCANNED and LAST INFECTED, the SCANNED COUNT and INFECTED COUNT show as 0

The task name is Resident Protection, but it does give me a run time.

I have the setting set to HIGH, and the provider says that it is currently running.

I have done some eicar downloads and they indeed get caught, but when I click on less detail I see the scanned info ok, but at the top is says RESIDENT PROTECTION

Any reason for all of this? and does this seem right?

I have the beta 1178 installed on 98 S.E

Which browser do you use?

You have to manually configure browser to access Internet using avast! WebShield if you have Windows 98\Me. For 2k\XP\Vista it's automatic and transparent.

To manually configure your browser see the following tutorials:

For IE and permanent connection users:

For IE and dial-up users:

Click on the "Details" button at the bottom of the display then you will get information on each provider.

Do you mean the details button when it changes to less detail when clicked on?
