Title: Outlook error message occuring when program has been uninstalled
Post by: gerco on April 21, 2008, 03:20:42 AM
Hi all,
I have recently uninstalled Avast though when i try to open Outlook now I receive this error message?

Microsoft Outlook

"X  The add-in "C:\Program Files\Avast4\ashOutXt.dll" could not be installed or loaded.  This problem may be resolved or using detect and repair on the help menu.  Unable to load C:\ProgramFiles/Alwil Software\Avast4\a...".  You may be out of memory, out of system resources, or missing a dll file."

We have run the standard Detect and Repair option, and the error message is still continuing to appear.
Have also searched reg edit for asw keys and none are present.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, gerco

If you are able to open Outlook then you might try going to Tools>Options>Other tab>Advanced Options button and near the bottom choose "Add-IN Manager". There might still be an Avast entry there that you can uncheck.
