Title: Can't register. Invalid license key.

Downloaded avast! 4.8 Free Home Edition today and it keeps telling me the license key you gave me is invalid. I tried re-registering with another e-mail account and it still says it's invalid. I'm copy-pasting it so I'm not making any mistakes. My Windows date is fine and I'm using my admin account. Also I tried reinstalling the program.

These anti-virus programs are always giving me more trouble than the viruses themselves. Oh how I hope that one day I will find a decent anti-virus.

Please try to update to the latest beta (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=34612.0) first - it may help.

Thanks, it worked. But why did it send me a beta key in the first place?

No, it wasn't a beta key - it was an ordinary key, it's just that the current version of avast! has some problems with entering the license key on specific system configurations (as you've encountered).
The problem has been fixed and the fix is currently available in the latest beta. The final program update, which will also included the fix of course, will be released soon.
