Title: My friend has these virus' on her computer....
Post by: rdwngsfn on March 26, 2004, 09:20:22 PM
Win32:DyfucDldr-F (Trj), Win32: Trojan-gen (VC), Win32: Trojan-gen (UPX), and Win 32: NcaseSpy (Trj).

I ran the Avast scan for her but it would not repair these virus'. Can you tell me how I can do it or give me website that give me step by step instructions on how to get rid of them?

Thanks so much,
Rdwngsfn,  :)

She is using Windows XP. I forgot to put in my last post. Any other information that is necessary let me know I will try to get that for you.

Hello,

I would try securityrespons.symantec.com (Norton Antivirus)..
There's an option 'View all removal tools', anyway there's info on a lot of viruses, their payload, etc..

Hi.

I am not finding anything on there that suggests that any of those are a virus. Could they be spyware that is on her computer?

Thanks,
Rdwngsfn  :)

That might well be.  Do you have copies of Adaware and Spybot (both freeware)? A scan with those 2 utilities could help.  I think trojans are a matter of deleting the concerned spyware .exe files rather then desinfect ordinary executables.  The 2 utilities mentioned do that...

But maybe some non-Newbies could give more technical help, guys?
