Title: which is better spyware doctor or spybo S&D with avast home 4.8?

 i want to know if which is the better free anti-spyware in this two:

*spyware doctor starter edition 5.5
*spybot S&D

 plss help me

It's hard to tell "who's the best" - tastes differ. As for me, I'm using Spybot S&D for more than a year and have never had "Spybot-Avast" conflicts.

It's hard to know. SD Starter reportedly has fewer malware definitions than the full version but is still likely to be more effective than Spybot S&D Re: conflicts with avast! 4.8, you could ask on the SD forum (http://www.pctools.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=54).

Generally SpywareDoctor on-demand has a greater detection rate than Spybot.
But Spybot allows immunization.
Why don't you keep both?

But immunization, I think, will fill your hosts file with some 18000+ entries and thus will practically negate hosts main purpose - speeding up the web browsing...

I didn't notice a slow down... I'll remove the hosts entries and see what I get.

but when i install spybot,my pc gets slow on its start-up! :'(

how can i improve my start-up speed?

Really? I can't see a relationship unless you've scheduled Spybot to on-demand scanning at boot time...
