I have installed Avast Home edition on a few of my computers at home.
Unfortunately, on some of them, the system (all running winXP0 complains the Port 25 is block (this occurs on Boot-up) and when you try and send an email, it refuses to send the email. If I remove the Avast configuration, using the Mail Protection Wizard everything works as it should (except no virus protection).
As far as I know, I am not doing anything to block port 25. No firewall, no Internet
TCPView indicates the Port 25 is being watched by inetinfo.exe
Since I am not doing anything special with my system configuration, I don't understand why the default installation wouldn't work.

Inetinfo.exe is MS IIS (or PWS). You can disable SMTP server somewhere in its configuration if you don't need it and it will unblock the port.
