Since last evening Avast Free updates are very slow (10min. or more), never happens previously. Is there a server problem? Thanks.
-
Same here, it never seems to update at all! Was always very fast, must be a server problem?
-
I haven't noticed any slow downs in the update process. Usually it takes somewhere around 40-70 seconds, depending on the update size.
edit: Romania.

Can we determine whereabout these problems are occuring i.e country.
-
i also noticed that the update is a little bit slower than usually!
an update (program) takes about 50 seconds (when no updates are available) - usually its faster...
if i update the virus database it only takes about 8 seconds like usually...

I can confirm that not only have the updates been much slower than usual the last couple of days, but sometimes it will time-out and say something like 'unable to connect'. I am located northeast usa.
thanks,

The data center outage affecting a significant proportion of the avast servers (and a lot of others too) is discussed here:

The hosting service is working round the clock to get all the servers back online.

Just got an update, working fine again in Ontario, Canada, 9:30pm.
