Hi;
I have the demo version of Avast 4 running on my MS Server 2003 box and all seems fine. Except I cannot customize the SMTP message alerts. When I do a test it says "Virus Warning" in the subject line and "This is a test message from avast! anti-virus." in the body. When I set up the alert I set the comment to tell me the machine name that is infected, but it does not. Is this just beacuse I am only generating a test? Will an actuall infection provide me the comment line as well so I know what machine is infected? Also is this the same for the workstation version of Avast? We have 4 servers and 20 workstations and I am trying to get a bugjet to switch all of them to avast. But i need to make sure that if I get an SMTP alert that I can tell by the message what machine is in trouble.
Thanks

This is what the notification looks like:
avast! [NEMESIS]: File "C:\ei\eicar.com" is infected by "EICAR Test-NOT virus!!" virus.
"Simple user interface" task used
Version of current VPS file is 0403-19, 03/26/2004
NEMESIS is the name of the computer.
So -- you should probably be all set.
I believe there was some ini switch for customizing this message -- please let me know if you want to know more about this...
Thanks
