Hello:
I have Outlook Express 6.0 that handles my POP3 and Hotmail account. I tried to integrate Avast 4 email protection system with OE 6.0. I followed the instructions in the Mail Protection Wizard by setting up the protection manually. It gave me instructions on changing the Avast4.ini configuration. So I did everything that was told and finally, I opened up OE to give Avast a test. I did not observe the little a-ball icon rotate on the system tray which might indicate that Avast did not scan my emails. What did I do wrong ???

I was toying with the Avast email protection program before and now I have virus protection for my POP3 account. However, I don't have protection for my Hotmail account in Outllook Express 6.0. Is there any way I can have protection for Hotmail as well?

Since Hotmail is webmail, you can't get Avast to protect your Hotmail account.
Fortunately, Hotmail e-mail is scanned for viruses at the server before they are sent to you. (I assume infected attachments get deleted.)
