Title: Avast Freezes Around 250000 Files scanned. Any Ideas?
Post by: Yoghuntr on July 07, 2008, 02:15:45 AM
Hello all, I am a newbie here, and need some advice on Avast.
I am running WINXP (SP2)
Zone Alarm
Ad Aware

Avast will freeze during scanning, you can manually stop the scan, and restart it, but will freeze again. I have removed Avast and reinstalled, and this will fix the problem for about 3 or 4 days. I have been using Avast for about 3 years, and this is the first problem that I have ever had. With many thanks to Avast I can count on one hand the amount of infections that Avast has missed in downloading files, that were found in later scans. I recommend to ALL!

Thank you much, Mike

Does it freeze on any specific file or is it totally random?

... to find out, you can enable creation of the Report file in program settings - and let everything, even "OK files", be included there.
