Now that Avast has created this major problem with Opera, is there a quick fix plan the repair their update. Does anyone have a clue as to what is being done? I'm all the way back to 4.7.1098

First, please reply to the other thread (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=37227.msg311649#msg311649) since it has a more concrete (and thus more search-engine friendly) title.

Your question is already answered as below by Vlk, an Avast! team member in the thread.
We were able to simulate the problem, and it really looks like a subtle bug in the 4.8.1227 WebShield. :-\

We're currently discussing the possibilities of fixing the issue.
