Title: Problem with scan of DVD image on hard disk
Post by: hariskar on May 25, 2003, 10:36:33 AM
I have 2 DVD image files in my hard disks (*.nrg file) and I think there was a problem when I tried to do my first whole system scan with avast 4 pro trial. The scan goes ok till avast tries to scan this dvd image file. The scanning of this file never ends... till I stop it everytime. I didn't have this problem with Norton antivirus. Do I do something wrong? Or is it a bag? How can I perform a whole system scan?

I thought that it could be because I had checked to search in archives and thorough scan. Maybe Norton AV has as default a normal scan. When I see in task manager avast works properly, so maybe we have to be patient and just wait more...

What the thorough test really does is that it scans the file in its entirety, and since it's a huge file, it's going to take lot of time (but it is, or should be, finite).

Try doing a normal scan (normal level) - should be much faster!
