Title: Automatically move files to chest?
Post by: estiew2002 on July 27, 2008, 09:22:24 PM
Where and how do I set up an option to automatically move files to chest, instead of doing it manually after each scan? I have Avast Pro and I have searched the enhanced interface for that option but can't seem to find it.

Thanks

As far as I'm aware you have to create a task and select your options.

See the avast Help file, Enhanced User Interface.

Thanks for quick reply. I followed your advice and went to my tasks to define actions to be taken. I then read Virus section in the Help file and it says there that " When a virus is found, the task is temporarily stopped and a window appears where you can choose the action to take. You can select the possible actions to be offered in this window by pressing the Interactive button". so if I understood correctly choosing the option to delete or move to chest or other action in tasks, doesn't really help, as it still requires me to manually tell Avast to take the action i chose. And since I usually set my avast to run at night, I  never see the pop up window when the virus is found. so I am still looking for a way for Avast to take an action by itself when a virus is found

You can set it up to do a what if style scenario, repair, if that fails, move to chest, etc. deletion is never a good option.

I can't be of much practical help as I use avast 4 Home that doesn't have the Enhanced User Interface.
