Hi, I'm fairly new to avast -- only been using it a month or two -- but I have reinstalled my version several times when I was trying other antivirus software. And each time, avast has accepted the same registration key.

I THINK (I'm no moderator or techie with avast, so I'm not sure) that you can use the registration key for a number of months or a year or so before you will need to re-register.

Perhaps others with real knowledge about all this will respond?

Registrationkeys expire after 14 months.
After this period, you have to re-register to obtain a new key.
Bye,

If you take a look in "About" in your installed copy, it'll show when your registration expires -- date and time, right down to the second, incredibly.  8)

You can re-register at any time, and you receive a key good for 14 from NOW. I.e. if you register now, you will get a key valid thru June 05. If you register in July, for example, you get a key valid thru Sep 05, etc...

If you use the same e-mail address, the "customer number" part of the key will stay the same (the 7 digit number that follows the letter at the beginning of the key).

Hope this helps,
Vlk

No problem, just use your new email address, the old registration will eventually expire and evaporate...

No need to do anything else, our DB can handle it... :D
