Post by: tekkaman on July 31, 2008, 02:28:37 PM
Hello

I just the installed the Trial of Avast Small business in our company server. Why is this version still 4.7?

My company is running the SBS version, too, and we're getting ready to renew our license.

I don't know when 4.8 was released and don't follow Avast's development, but figure that as the Home/Pro version likely gets the most use (Home is free, right?), they released it there first to shake out any bugs before releasing a new Netclient.  ADNM lets you update the engine and VPS at will anyway.  The only problem, I guess, would be if a 4.7 license wasn't good enough for 4.8.  I wouldn't think this to be the case, but perhaps somebody could comment on how Avast handles upgrades?

If the upgrade process is the same for the SBS version as for the Pro version then if you still have a valid license you get the upgrade.

You could get confirmation at sales (at) avast.com though.
