Title: "Pro" is it worth it?
Post by: mrbrimi on May 25, 2003, 10:42:15 PM
Have recently been using the "Home" edition and am suitably impressed. Is it worth the cost to upgrade to "Pro"?

Well, it depends on what you expect from the product  :D You can see the addons and differences here: http://www.avast.com/i_idt_1018.html . I believe the biggest difference is the presence of enhanced interface and its task concept...

From what I've see Home covers most of the bases.

Maybe this is more to the point, now that I've got Home on my PC guess I could remove it and install Pro as a trial.

Just curious as to how users see the additional benefits.

Well, there are some who use Pro, although most of home users are quite happy with Home version. So the 'Pro' version is mostly used by people who do not fit into home non-profit category...

Edit by Vlk:...or, just want to express their gratitude ;) ;D

Two features are worth the money, imo:

*  Script Blocking
*  Scheduling of manual scanning tasks.

I try to get my users to upgrade for those reasons. ;D
