Title: question about firewall
Post by: BJ_GeOrgE on August 20, 2008, 01:51:02 PM
hi i'm using avast 4.8 home edition and spybot search and destroy(only the on-demand scanner)...i have windows vista x32 with sp1 installed and fully updated...i know how to use safe the internet(dont open suspicious sites, never donwload programs from unofficial sites etc)..the windows firewall is enough for me or do i need a more effective firewall like comodo?i'm asking this coz i was using avast along with comodo and they were using lots of ram...i have 3gb of ram and 2,4 dual core but they slew my pc a bit(especially at the startup)...but using avast and windows firewall is faster...so what do u suggest me?

thnx in advance

you could always try vista firewall control(sphinx)it just gives you inbound/outbound control over the vista firewall,i tried and liked it,it didnt kill the pc.

theres a free version i find that for me its good enough but there is a paid version with more options, look in the free column and click download for vista 32
