Title: Scan before boot very slow
Post by: toto42 on August 22, 2008, 11:35:32 AM
Hello,

I have started a scan before boot on my laptop and it lasts for now 25 hours!
Is it normal? If not, why should I do?

My computer is an acer core 2 duo, 1Go RAM, DD 100 Gb (60% full)

Thx!

I'd see if it has crashed
before shutting it down (with task manager) check task manager and see if anything else is running-
check the logs and report back
you can try a safe mode scan and see if that works better
was there ever any other AV on this machine- or preinstalled?

Is the scanning running or it stalled?
The time of scanning depends on the number of the files and the number of archives.
But, indeed, 25 hours is too much...
