Title: rename file (renommer fichier)
Post by: montignie on August 28, 2008, 05:02:49 PM
HI!

I downloaded a new version of Avast and was invited to rename many files and to restart my computer. I did it.

After that, Avast asked me if I wanted to rename a file which is called "advpack.dll". The programme is : "svschot.exe". I really don't know if I have to accept but if I reject it, it comes again!

Thank you for help.

Isabelle

What exactly do you mean that you were asked to rename many files? As far as I know, avast! doesn't anything like that (at least not without a big "Virus found" warning - where "Rename" is one of the options).

Also, what program/version exactly did you install?

"svschot.exe"
If you write correctly, this is a malware.
From where did you download your avast copy? Are you using Home or Professional version?
