Post by: ricman on April 11, 2004, 12:21:19 PM
Hi , I'm a new Avast user , an in fact not a computer expert . Avast has detected a Win32:Trojan-gen in my C drive - C:\Program files\Save\Save.exe. I have tried all the options but to no avail. The propped out window showed "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" Can anyone help me pls ?

Start the Taskmanager end the "SAVE.EXE" task and delete the file, or start MSCONFIG.exe take a look at the startups and uncheck the entry regarding to tthe SAVE.exe and delete the file folder after a restart.

you should also take a look at SpybotSD http://www.safer-networking.org/
and Adaware: http://www.lavasoft.de/default.shtml.en

install both, update them and let them scan your pc. you will be surprised what they will find.....

Thanks Raman,
I tried deleting the Save.exe but was not able to.
There was no save.exe from the startups as well.
Then I downloaded spybots and it removed the trojan -gen . Later when  I scanned again the infection was already gone . Thanks again  :)
