Title: System Administrator Error in Outlook when sending virus file to virus@avast.com
Post by: Remington Model 700 on September 06, 2008, 04:40:40 PM
this is what I get back in my email after sending a Chest file to avast:

"Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

      Subject:   avast!
      Sent:   9/6/2008 6:27 AM

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

      'virus@avast.com' on 9/6/2008 6:27 AM
None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient."

what do I need to do (before/during) the upload so the file will go through? I am capable of zipping the virus, but I will need to know where to look for it.

Your email provider (maybe GMail) is blocking the sending of a suspicious extension. Even if you zip the file, they could block.

It's a pity that the submission process of avast is using only SMTP/IMAP protocols... we can't send samples from a lot of emails servers :'( :'(
