Title: ? re: item found when scanning PC
Post by: jzbell on September 10, 2008, 03:48:34 AM
I just finished a complete scan on my PC and all was ok except the following info appeared:

D:I386\Apps\APPS20448\src\install\ga,es\..\nsis1.bin

This appeared 3 times but was same information.

Is this good or bad - do I need to be concerned about it?

Thanks

To know if a file is a false positive, please submit it to  VirusTotal (http://www.virustotal.com/xhtml/index_en.html) and let us know the result. If it is indeed a false positive, send it in a password protected zip to virus@avast.com. VirusTotal has a file size limit of 10Mb. Please, mention in the body of the message why you think it is a false positive and the password used. Thanks.

Maybe you need to disable Hide protected operating system files (http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html) and enable View hidden files and folders (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html#winxp) to manage the file(s).

I'm not sure if this is actually a "file" name.  I already have the view hidden files and folders set to that.

I have done a search for various parts of the above find in the D: drive and it comes up with nothing.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Julea

I'm not sure if this is actually a "file" name.
It is, most probably, inside of an archive file (.zip, .arj, .cab, etc.).
At least check the folder: D:I386\Apps\APPS20448\src\install\ga,es\
Strange is the comma (ga,es)...
