Title: Apple QuickTime and iTunes -- inactivate Avast
Post by: nweissma on September 16, 2008, 03:25:45 AM
Apple updated QuickTime and iTunes on my Wintel Vista-32.

Avast alerted me that the Apple update installation process wanted to inactivate Avast.  i said "No"; should i have said "Yes"? For what reason might an Apple install need to inactivate an AV?

No, no reason for deactivating the antivirus... only poor installers ask to do so...
Sorry Mac, I'm still having problems with QuickTime installation... it's not good...

Disabling antiviruses during installations is retarded thing and somehow defeats their purpose. So never do that.
