If you want something free, CDBurnerXP is a good program.

If your willing to spend some money, I recommend the following:
Ashampoo Burning Studio 8 (http://www2.ashampoo.com/webcache/html/1/product_2_1810__.htm)

Stick with Ashampoo as their software is by far the best. All others have bunch of stupid quirks. Ashampoo just works on the other hand. Properly.

Yes, I agree, I really like Ashampoo CD/DVD Software, I have no problems at all when I burn discs, and I burn a lot.

BurnAware doesn't even detect my Samsung DVD-RW drive and both BurnAware and CDBurnerXP Pro had major porblems properly detecting used space on Audio CD discs. Interface is also very nice and kinda reminds to Nero in Ashamoo Burning Studio which is certanly a good thing.

Yes I was interested in the Ashampoo product as I'm currently using the one from imgburn.com, it is basic but does the job. So a free version of Ashampoo would be nice as I don't do much burning.

Free registration required after 10 days.
Be prepared to a lot of spam... This is my personal experience... they would try to sell *any* ashampoo product...

Either register using a temporary email address like 10minutemail.com email address, or simply block with the likes of mailwasher, etc.

They are spreading wrong info. You can register but it doesn't matter if you don't, as you don't get any registration key and there isn't any field to enter any key either.
I registered at first because it offered registration but later found out it's not really necessary. I think i got some news from them at first, but i've unsubscribed from Ashampoo newsletter and haven't got any mail from them since.
So it's just download and use, nothing else required.

I have NTI CD & DVD MAKER 7 pre-installed on my computer. I like it because it has a feature for DVD videos you can watch on your TV screen but I haven't tried it yet... ;D

I just installed the free version on a new Vista Ultimate install.
Do not select the online registration option
While installing uncheck
receive notices for ashampoo products and,
receive notices of updates.

You can get news of their products from their website.
You can't update the free version so you don't need notices about
updating to a paid version.

Following these directions get you no emails and no hassles about updating.

I have a security disk my mum got, and I can get ashampoo free off there - Or would be illegal to put it up??

No, you can run from your security disk... I mean, it can be used there, installed there.

I've sent the recommendation for StarBurn to SnapFiles, so they'll add it to their database.

Based on experience of one user that probably has no clue what he's saying (judging by other comments there)?

In our tests, some downloads on this site tried to change our Web browser home page.

Big deal it isn't even a Red flag and there are many that would like to change your home page.
