Title: Vista Firewall Control
Post by: jujubee08 on October 26, 2008, 07:06:58 PM
Hello everyone.

I'm trying to find a good, reliable firewall for Windows Vista. I was going to download Zonealarm for Vista, but then I decided against it once I read reviews about it.

I want to use the Vista Firewall Control tool, but wanted to find out what others experience with it is.
It seems like an independently created tool for Vista, although its supposed to essentially do what Vista Firewall should easily allow you to.

Does anyone have any experience with Window Firewall Control? Also, does it contain any Spyware or Trojans? Will it crash my Vista a lot?

Also, how do I test the safety of my Internet ports? Is there any safe, reliable website that can give me an assessment of my port security?

Thank you for any help.

I suggest you test:
Comodo
PCTools
OnlineArmor
and then keep the one suits better for you...

Hi jujubee08,
Vista Firewall Control May not be as pretty as some of the others but it does a good job
at allowing you to control the built in outbound firewall protection built into Vista.

It contains no ad ware or viruses.

I personally use PCTools Firewall Plus (http://www.pctools.com/firewall/) but that's my choice. (It's FREE :))
