Title: iexplorer no longer works

I have loaded and unloaded Avast Home Edition.  Whenever the software is running and I start iexplorer, no site will launch.  When I turn the software off, iexplorer seems to work fine.  I can't seem to figure out what is causing the problem.  The Avast software is loaded on a xp machine and it is up to date with the software updates.

Any ideas?

Did you previously have another antivirus installed on your system?

If so which one and how was it removed?

Are you using a firewall?
