Hi, I am new to Linux having just received an Acer Aspire One running Linpus Linux as a gift. I used Avast before on Windows PC and now want to use it also on my new notebook. I have downloaded the Linux version of Avast and it seems to have installed correctly as I can manually run scans. However, I do not seem to have real time protection as there is no icon appearing in the system tray (i.e. where my wi-fi and volume indicators can be seen at the bottom right of the screen).
Does anyone know how to set up Avast on the Acer Aspire One so that I can get real time protection.
Thanks

for realtime protection ,
you need to purchase the commercial license of avast for linux servers.
home version only provides on-demand scanner.

I would add :
Realtime scanning is not necessary under linux.
A time-to-time full scan of your disk is highly enough ;)
