Title: Windows 7
Post by: cpupro on December 31, 2008, 04:52:51 PM
I have heard that in January there is going to be a public beta release of Windows 7. Is the current Avast program going to be able to work with this?  ???

According to my applications testing on Windows 7, it's working with Avast! 4.8.1296 without any problem.

Thanks Klode, I just wanted to make sure that when I do this in the future it is compatible. It really makes testing hard when you can't find an AV that is working.  ;D

By any chance did you have to do this in "compatiable" mode or anything or did it just install and work?

AFAIK Windows 7 public beta is only available in x86 flavour, is that right?
Because I am more interested in future x64, support. I am aware that Avast run fine in Windows XP x64, Vista x64, and even 2003 and 2008 x64, but would like to see a full native x64 build.

Yep, only x86 Beta1 build 7000 leaked to p2p networks - i guess it's original msdn version for testers.
