Hello to you all, new user here. simple question to start with. On start up i have a message from "Avast telling me "i have upgraded my system and this version cannot run. please uninstall and download a new one" Even though i have never run avast before yesterday. The desktop icon is here, i've clicked on it and it seems to have succesfully scanned. Should i therefore ignore the pop up message ? or uninstall and download a new one.

Which is your avast version? Click the "About" option in the 'a' blue icon. Is it 4.8.1296?
Are you using avast WHS? Or the free (Home) avast version?

Hello Tech, my blue icon tells me it's the 4.8 version of Avast with 360 + days of the trial left. it's updating and scanning OK, so i suppose it's working. Thanks.

Hmmm... I think the trial period of all avast products is 60 days (most).
