Sorry to hear, techie, we're all here for you to lean on just like you've been here for us with our computer problems.

Since my introduction to the internet was via head-injury support groups (and I'm still active there), a little help that might seem oddball anywhere else.  ((((Hugs)))) there totally disregard gender, age differences, or even number of people being hugged at once.

All my best, and take care,
Mike

TO ALL MY FRIENDS..

The pain of such a loss can only be diminished by the comfort of friends near and far.....

Thank you all for being there for me.  The many prayers and good will I have received through IM and Email was beyond expectation.

Peace be with you all.  I will be ok in time and will always be here for you all.

That's our Techie talking !!! Head up my friend, that's the only possible way. We must figth (I hate that word, but what can we do...) every single day through our life time. Life is not easy. There are some wonderful and unforgetable moments, but we always must count with moments like that one... they are all around us, and it's just question of time, when it will strike us all. No runaways from those problems...

My advice: Be here with your friends, hang around with your close (phisical) friends, and keep remembering what wonderful lady you used to have in your life. You must go forward, no backwards my friend. Life is odd, you never know when it will work against you and when it's on your side... sometimes it can be your best friend, sometimes you just can't count on it, 'cause it can be your worst enemy... the only one you can always count on is... YOU !!! Anyway, we all are here for you. Don't forget that Techie101 !

Sorry for your loss my friend.
I lost my Mom and Dad some years ago but, there are times I still talk to them.
You'd be surprised how much that sometimes helps.

Hi Techie,

Sorry for your loss.  I lost my Dad a few years back.  Just know that in a year or so you will feel happy when you remember her, not sad.  Hang in there.

Techie 101,
I am new to this forum and this is my second post,  but I have been reading some of the posts and feel I kind of know you a little through your posts.  Hence, I write.
I recently lost two uncles.  One last month and one last week.  While I know from experience its not the same as losing your mom (mine passed away in 1984 at only 46 years old and I still miss her.)   I thought I would share a thought I had this past weekend that brought me and other family members some comfort.
While my first uncles death was sad I was mostly unaffected.  He was fairly old, not the best health for many years, and all of my adult life has been spent out of state so the only time I sawhim was at family reunions about every 3 or 4 years.
However, I was surprised how much my uncle who past away last week deeply affected myself (again only saw him once every 3-4 years too), my siblings, and father.  While his death was unexpected--a sudden illness took him within days--and he was younger, only 66 and just retired.  I think the big difference was as a child our families would go camping together in the summer and he would tell us stories around the camp fire (He was a very outdoorsie type person that love to go hiking and explore).
During the weekend, I suddenly knew he had gone ahead in advance of everyone to explore the area and set up camp.  But before he does this I'm sure he will find and set up a new beautiful comfortable home for he and my aunt.  I know when I see him again he will have my aunt with him and they will greet us with warm affection and welcome us in. They will be happy to show us around camp and all he has discovered and I will made to feel comfortable in just being there.  But not now, for now he is happy and busy learning the area and preparing for our later arrival. He has many tasks ahead him in order to be ready for each and everyone of us.
I am sure your mom is doing the same thing, preparing a new home for you to come to.  While, I'm sure she will continue to look out for you and keep in touch in her own way, everybody knows a phone call and an in-person visit is not the same.  So she will be excited to see you (never doubt a mothers love), but for now she is busy and needs time to get ready for your   latter arrival.   Take comfort and be happy in your life  as need I remind you women don't like it when afternoon house guests show up unexpectantly early in the morning.  As you do with any house guest,  you want and hope to have everything done before they arrive and just patiently await for their arrival.   Its never good-bye just see you later.
Take it easy, take care, and take your time.
                                    Newto
