Title: Alerts when logging errors?
Post by: TheSpirit on January 08, 2009, 10:17:21 AM
I still see the infamous 00000005 error in the error log from time to time. Some can be explained, but others remain a mystery.

Is it possible to get an alert when errors or more serious events are logged? It would help a lot in an effort to uncover the system behavior that triggers these errors.

This is basically saying you do not have the rights to access the file.

This would happen, for example, were you running a scan from a restricted user account and it was trying to access another users files.

It may help if you can provide a little more information on the errors you are seeing.

No, it's not possible to receive a GUI alert when a resident-protection scanning error occurs.

Yes, I can see that, but why? Don't you think that Avast errors are as important as the many other alerts?

Is the log viewer window updated with new events if kept open, or must it be closed and re-opened?
