I see that there is a new version of Avast (4.8.1299). I now have the 4.8.1296 version, but when I click on the update button I don't have new updates for the program (I don't have any problems with updating the virus definitions). So do I need to install the newest version myself?

Ow I did a mistake, I checked the homepage of Avast and I looked to fast. I saw the "9" of the server edition. Sorry.

Any idea when it will released?
There will be a new build soon (month).
The avast 5 version is expected to the end of this semester (June, July... who knows).

When avast 5 comes out, do you know if it will automatically overwrite the previous version or will users have to manually uninstall it first?

I've read here that the setup of the version 5 will ask for version 4 uninstallation or you'll have to do it by yourself, i.e., it won't overwrite the old version but, on contrary, will require an installation from the scratch.
