Title: Administrator can't access Data folder?
Post by: Kreuger on February 08, 2009, 04:42:54 PM
I wanted to install a new skin on my computer and I am the admin on it. In fact, there's only one account on here and it has admin privileges however, when I tried to save a skin to the C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Data folder, it said I don't have permission and to make sure I was an admin. What do I do?

this could be the self protection module which doesn't allow you to write to the avast-folder...
but for using a new skin this is usually not needed - try just to open the skin file (not save it to the avast-folder) it should be installed automatically.

Well I ended up reinstalling my system (for other reasons) and now I can write to it again however the skin I added to the folder does not appear in the skin chooser dialog. I just double clicked it and it switched for me
