Welcome to the forums, Jønne. :)
Just click on the Member Map button near the top and you can see where most of us come from.

With great respect to CharleyO's suggestion I very much doubt that the member map has any connection at all to the reality of the use of avast's Home edition globally.
The member map is a a very small self selecting group of avast users who choose to advertise their whereabouts in a forum that is, again self selecting, being a place for those users who are comfortable in using the English language to express themselves.
I rather doubt that the avast team - who have much better information - would be willing to provide such competitive information in this forum.

Hi...
Judging from the number of American flags I see, I would think the United States ranks pretty high on the list. ;D
May God Bless you all! :)

Quite right, Alan.
So, the easiest source for Jønne to get some idea of where users are from is the member map.
Ardvark is also right. Many users are from the USA with Europe also having a large amount of users.

See my comments above. This is not a surprise or an indicator. The United States is the largest English (variant of) speaking nation on the planet. It is no surprise that it appears as the most prominent self selecting group in this forum. I am sure that, given the size of the US Internet community, the US user base ranks high in the avast user database.
However, assumptions are not always even across the globe. For example the last time I looked there was a far greater adoption of Firefox as a browser in Europe than in the US. avast's use may not be even globally - in this English based forum we cannot know the real distribution.
The user map is still part of the unrealistic self selecting group.

Hi There, and Thanks to you All ... CharleyO, alanrf and ardvark !
Maybe U.S.A is strong representative in connection to avast! ...
I did notice, that Untited States of America was set as default language, when you wish to get an activation-code for avast!.
Well, thats Nice.
But of cause I shanged it to Denmark insead.
;)
Greetings and Good Day from Jønne in Denmark, Scandinavia.

Sorry, nothing to contribute, just want to get a different flag in this thread. ;)
-
:)
Well - How nice with a different flag ...
-
I think that you could look at the different language variants of avast in the Home download page would give a good idea of the spread/distribution globally as there would have to be a reasonable amount of users to have it translated, but no figures.
So here's another flag ;D

Me too.
Greetings from Canada EH!

And hi from another Canajun. Up here, two of us is over-crowding. ;) ;D

I know that i might be the only Albaninan (Eastern Europe) member of this forum and for sure one of the maybe thousand people using it in this small country. At least almost all of my friends are converted by me to Avast home and too bad there is no where to buy a great product like Avast here in my country. Kaspersky and Norton are pretty well known but mostly pirated and a very few people can buy on/line with credit cards here yet. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
;D
Well then ...
Greetings to you all from:
United States & New Zealand & United Kingdom & Canada & Albania !
(And if other contries follow in this threat...)
From Denmark

P.S
How do you set pictures: Avatar on our profile?
And gender?

Hey Polonus!
Thanks for the nice picture from Rotterdam harbour.
I like it. As I like harbours.
Live in Copenhagen, who have a nice habour-aria.
Are you from Poland? (Hope you don´t mind me asking)
I´ve been to the Polish harbour towns : Gadansk and Genynia.
And also to Warszawa and Karkov.
Yes Krølle-Bølle Icecream is tasty and fine.
Hi from

Best wishes to everyone here for SAN VALENTINE DAY. And to AVAST people too

Hi Jønne,
No I am a Dutchman. Family from my father's side lived here in this polder near Rotterdam since the year 1275, my mother's family is from Prussia and came to Holland since the Napoleontic wars. My wife is genuine Polish (her granddad took part in the wielkopolski uprising to put Poland back on the map again as an independent country), and I learned that difficult language. Danish language is in the same family like Frisian and Dutch and a lot of words have similar meanings or have a bit different historic development. In our language gammel means old and deteriorated, in Scandinavia it is just old - gamle bilar = old cars. So gammel and old (=Dutch oud) grew a bit apart,
Mange hilsner,

Hi Polonus...
That's quite a background you have there. ;) What does "KrolleBolle icecream" taste like? We don't see European ice cream here in the U.S. too often. The only time I've seen genuine European ice cream was when I was a kid and my uncle in California bought a box of Swiss ice cream of some unique flavor that I can't remember the name of. The box was black with white (and some other color) lettering and very unique looking. :)
May God Bless all of you! :)

Just saying hello from Sweden! ;D

Hi David...
That rule even covers the flags? Wow. :(
Best Regards...
-
Thanks Tarq57
;D
- I just did that, and use now my real name Jørn (Jønne is sort of "Nickname")
-
Hi Jørn,
You ever been here? This was a gigantic castle once on Bornholm, there was a time the Swedes were masters there, and when the beer was of a better quality the masters were Danish. Hammershus is huge. Did you also visit Malbork in Poland, that is the largest "zamek" (castle) of Europe,

I believe so, as there is a lot of the user profile (because the area where the flag settings are has other settings) that is out of bounds after first registering, though ilker could give it a try and see if it allows it.
-
It is allowed to show the flag even before posting 20 messages.
Avast is a great software, therefore people like it. Also I am proud to be protected by G DATA that includes Avast signatures. And Alwil company earns money by selling its engine. So I'm happier. :)
As you can see i'm Turk like İlker is. Greetings from Turkiye. :)
I love you Avast guys. ;D
-
Hi Mevcit,
I saw your flag there.. Ay Yildiz
polonus
-
Hallo Polonus. :)
Bedankt voor het bevestigen van de Turkse vlag. Ja, het heet "Ay-Yıldız". :)
I hope this is grammatically true. ;D
-
Hi mevcit,
Perfect Dutch, my friend, and the story of the Turkish flag is a very interesting one, people should go to Wikipedia and read about it. I do not speak Turkish, (but I like baklavah), our member FreeWheelingFrank can speak Turkish, and yes we are quite an international community with one common goal - help people get rid of malware,
Stay safe and secure online,
polonus
-
Thanks my friend. :) Yeah, it is interesting, and also there are some legends about it. The previous forms may be associated with some religious values, but not our current flag as we are a secular country thanks to Atatürk.
Now i really desire baklava (although it is high calorie), however everywhere is closed. It is 2.56 am here. :o Anyway.
Avast forum is really a friendly forum thanks to all of you. And thanks for your wishes polonus. :)
Good night.
-
(but I like baklavah)
Hi...
So do I...that and locoum. (http://www.libertyorchards.com/product/Locoum_Delights/Turkish_Delights) I've ordered this from this Liberty Orchards before, they are famous (here in the U.S.) for another version of the same dessert, Aplets and Cotlets. I don't know how closely their recipe follows the "standard" or original in the Middle East, but it sure is good. :)
Best Regards...
-
Avast gets users from all over. I myself am from the United States. ;D

Hi...
Show your flag! :)
May God Bless you! :)
I will show sure when i reach 20 messages :)
May God Bless you too !
Take care of yourself people

İlker, you don't need to wait until 20 messages. If you select your country (which is Turkey :) ), then the flag will be visible. There are some recently registered newbies whose flags are shown on their profiles. Also i definitely remember that my flag was visible when i was a newbie.
Take care, buddy. :)

Hmm, maybe you didn't select the country while registering to the forum, and as far as i see that setting isn't visible after registration until reaching 20 messages. Anyway, now you are a junior, you can do whatever you want. :P

Ta daam ! :) I changed my profile finally.
I uploaded a picture of natural event related with Turkish Flag.
